Elance vs oDesk

Elance and oDesk are well known popular sites online for freelancers. You can have a successful freelance career in one of them. However, you should know the advantages and disadvantages of each site so that you know that best suits your needs. They are not the same in all cases.
The decision to join oDesk or Elance must occur early because once you start your career working independently in one of them is very difficult to change because you have to start somehow. We must seek assignments as a new member, because he did not comment on the "contribution" from one place to another. Therefore, a potential successful startup economy depends a lot of time and effort in planning a switch.
When you register on the site, each has its own type of membership and costs. oDesk is completely free to join. This is a concept for every premium membership. Thus, the terrain is flat - all are substantially the same level and can not afford to move to something better.
Elance, however, has a more complex composition, with four different levels of membership level, companies without large members. Free registration is very limited in terms that you can do.
So if you are brand new and want to try freelancing, oDesk provides an easy way to do it.
That said, you should also know the types. oDesk is a higher level of 10% compared to 8.75% of the load by Elance. Again, Elance a discount for missions over $ 10,000, but not as common. Comparing these two sites only on a fee basis, you should consider membership levels and fixed costs of its members.
Apply for a job, both parties have essentially the same system. However, Elance, oDesk, Exceed tend to have higher wages and benefits. Most companies have heard of Elance when it comes to work independently, but oDesk is a fast day. That said, it should be noted that Elance is larger, it is increased competition in working conditions. oDesk is relatively new and therefore less competitive and easier to get a job.
It should also be aware of what types of payment systems offered by both sites. This is especially true for foreign workers. The figures in this process must also be considered. If you are in the U.S., you can easily transfer ACH. PayPal is a great option to withdraw their money.
